Hyundai is expected to offer a total of 616 fleet vehicles, which includes 446 passenger vehicles, with more than half of the 226 units being hybrid electric and battery electric models. Along with this, Hyundai is also going to provide 10 electric city buses which will be used during the event. The FIFA World Cup 2022 will be held in Qatar from 20 November to 18 December 2022.

Hyundai is going to use Hyundai Ionic 5, Genesis G80 EV, Genesis Gv70 EV during this event. These passenger vehicles will be used for the transport of VIPs or staff members. At the same time, the city bus will be used for the transport of media. Due to this, there is going to be a huge reduction in emissions.

At the same time, care has also been taken of charging. Hyundai will be providing roadside charging service and will bring two Ionic 5 EVs with vehicle-to-load capability. FIFA says this includes a charging network with 100 kW to 150 kW EV chargers that will be provided at the parking space. With this, there will be no tension of charging.

In October, Hyundai has started training the drivers of its electric vehicles. At the same time, Real Time Vehicle Control Service will be used to improve the management of Fleet Service Quality. Talking about the company’s Ionic 5, it is made by combining “ion” and “unique”. The Hyundai Ionic 5 is built on the Hyundai Motor Group’s electric global modular platform.

The car uses a 3.5 kW Lithium Ion battery that can provide a range of 100 km in just 5 minutes of charge. This car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 5 seconds. The car will offer a range of 450 km on a single charge. High end audio speaker and music system will be given for entertainment in this car.

Globally, the car is offered with two battery options, 58 kWh and 7.6 kWh, which offers a range of up to 480 km. Its base version comes with a single electric motor, which makes 165 bhp power and 350 Nm torque. The dual-motor version makes 298 bhp power and 605 Nm torque.

This is huge for Hyundai as well as the FIFA World Cup. A good example can be set in such a large event using electric and hybrid vehicles to promote green vehicles across the world.
