Hyundai Tucson Safety Rating: 2022 Hyundai Tucson was recently launched in India. It has got good response from customers. However, the India-spec Hyundai Tucson has not been crash tested yet. However, there have been crash tests of the global model. The new gen Hyundai Tucson achieved a 5 star safety rating in November 2021 when it was crash tested by Euro NCAP while now the 2 airbag variant has got a 0 star safety rating in the Latin NCAP crash test, which is shocking. However, the 6 airbag variant of the Tucson 2022 has got a 3 star safety rating. The previous generation Tucson also achieved a 0 star safety rating in the Latin NCAP last year. A 0 safety rating means that there is a high risk of life of the occupants in the event of an accident.

2022 Hyundai Tucson with 2 airbags gets 0 star safety rating

The Hyundai Tucson 2022 model with 2 airbags for adult passengers scored 20.09, which is 50.23% of the total available marks. The score for children was only 2.62 marks or 5.34% of the total available marks. The Hyundai Tucson SUVs that were crash tested were made in South Korea/Czech Republic.

With reference to the adult occupant, the Latin NCAP stated that the head and neck protection provided to the driver and passenger in the event of a forward collision was good. There is also good protection on the chest of the driver and the passenger. There appeared to be little protection for the knees of the driver and passenger. The bodyshell is rated stable. At the same time, talking about side impact, there is good protection for the head, chest and stomach.

2022 Hyundai Tucson with 6 airbags gets 3-star safety rating

The 6 airbag variant of the Hyundai Tucson 2022 has got a better safety rating but this too is not the same as the Euro-spec model. For Adult Safety, I got 32.64 marks, which is 81.61% of the total marks available. For child safety it has got 34.07 marks, which is 69.53% of the total marks available.
