Hyundai sold 60501 cars in February, Creta made sales record

Hyundai Motor India has sold 60,501 units in February 2024. Out of this, domestic sales were 50,201 units, which is 6.8 percent more than last year. On the other hand, 10,300 units were exported. Here we are telling you in detail about the sales of Hyundai cars.

Hyundai sold the most SUVs

Notably, in the first full month after the launch of the 2024 Creta, the SUV has sold 15,276 units, which is the highest sales for a Creta model since its introduction in 2015. Hyundai India COO Tarun Garg highlighted the greater contribution of the SUV segment to the company’s overall sales performance. Hyundai has sold 67 per cent of SUVs in this financial year, compared to the industry average of 52 per cent of SUV sales in India. SUVs have accounted for 64 percent of Hyundai’s sales in the last two months, which shows its popularity.

For HMSI, SUVs contributed 67 percent this financial year, which is much higher than the industry average of 52 percent. The company wants to move forward on the same lines, with a target of 65 percent SUV sales by the end of the year. HMIL is experiencing balanced sales between urban and rural areas with rural sales crossing 20 per cent for the first time in February.

HMIL aims to meet the increasing demand with plans to expand production capacity. With a booking backlog of 85 thousand to 1 lakh units in the last 5 months, Hyundai is expected to add 1.5 lakh units at the Pune plant, taking the total capacity to 10 lakh units in the mid-term. Apart from this, HMIL is driving growth in the electric vehicle segment with initiatives like installing 11 ultra-fast chargers in multiple cities and plans to expand to 10 more locations in 2024.
