Hyundai Creta EV spotted while charging, will compete with MG ZS EV

Hyundai Creta EV Spotted: Currently, EV versions of many ICE vehicles are being seen in the country. This reduces the cost, as well as reduces the amount spent on new design development. Tata Motors does the same thing for its entire EV lineup. Mahindra has done the same with the XUV400 and the soon to be launched XUV800. Similarly, Hyundai is also working on a similar strategy. Spy shots of the Creta EV that were recently spotted testing had surfaced on the internet. Creta is the best-selling Hyundai car in India, so launching its EV version can be very beneficial for the company. When launched, its price can be around Rs 20 lakh.

spots during charging

Testing mule of Hyundai Creta EV has been spotted in Karnal, Haryana. In these pictures, we can see the testing unit of a Hyundai Creta EV connected to an EV charging station. The car is almost similar to its ICE version. However, it is likely to get different front and rear bumpers. However, the test mule currently gets the same bumper as the outgoing ICE-car. But the design of the production-spec version will be inspired by the recently spotted Creta facelift test mule.

The spotted car is a make-shift test model, which does not have any charging port. So the engineers have connected the charging cable by opening the bonnet. The production model will come equipped with a charging port, which is likely to be at the front. The powertrain with the Kona EV can be seen in it. Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, which is used for the Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and the Kia EV6, gets a charging port around the rear-right fender. If it gets the powertrain with the Kona EV, then the electric motor with 327V architecture, 39.2 kWh battery with 134 bhp power and 395 Nm torque is available. The Hyundai Kona EV offers a range of 452 km on a single charge.

A lot of technology and safety features will be seen in its interior. Which will include panoramic sunroof, powered driver seat, ventilated front seats, large infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital driver display, 6 airbags, ADAS features.

who will compete

After launch, it will compete with MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400 and Nexon EV Max. The ZS EV gets a choice of two battery packs, with a range of up to 461 km per charge.
