Hyundai Creta EV Spotted: The best-selling car in the compact SUV segment sells 10 to 15 thousand units every month. India is now the third largest automobile market in the world after China and the United States. At present, due to the increasing demand for EVs, the electric version of this car is expected to hit the market soon. Hyundai Motor is working on its electric Creta which can be launched by 2025. This car will compete with MG ZS EV.
Spot happened during testing
The new Hyundai Creta EV has been spotted once again during testing. The Creta Electric that was recently spotted on the Chennai Bangalore Expressway was missing any exhaust or radiator. The drive was running it at very high speed. Both the bumpers were in a different shade than the body.
Design
The test mule design of the Creta EV is similar to the current Creta, although it can be launched with new design updates. The company has started testing the Creta facelift for the Indian market. A Kona Electric battery pack can be found in it, which can be connected to a 100 kW electric motor. This motor will generate 136 hp power and 395 Nm torque. The range of Creta Electric is expected to be more than 400 kilometers on a single charge. Along with this, other Hyundai and Kia cars are expected to come in electric versions in the future.
Could be launched in 2025
Hyundai will produce around 25,000 units of its Creta EV per year. The production of this car can start by the end of 2024. The production version could be showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo. By then Maruti’s first YY8 electric SUV is also likely to hit the market.
Will compete with MG ZS EV
This car will compete with MG ZS EV in the country, whose popularity is increasing rapidly at present. It comes with two battery packs that offer a maximum range of 461 km.
