In this regard, Green City Ferries presented prototypes of the world’s first hydrogen catamaran. The vessel will be built of carbon fiber and will have a layer of foil in the middle, which will reduce drag and increase its cruising range. As a power plant, the catamaran will receive an Echandia hydrogen engine with batteries and fuel cells. Since it will consume negligible amounts of fuel, this will result in significant savings in the weight of the vessel.
