Already, there are many establishments that offer their visitors burgers made from peas and coconut oil. And in the near future, as major representatives of the food industry predict, burgers made from crickets, worms and larvae will gain popularity.
For example, the director of innovation for Thai Union Group, a company that produces canned tuna, Tunyawat Kasemsuvan said that the brand’s specialists are interested in using insects in the production.
Note that the fresh trend is in line with the decision of the European Union, which was adopted earlier in 2021. Then Brussels recognized the locusts as edible for people. At the same time, right now European regulators are studying other types of insects with might and main.
