Hubble Space Telescope managed to return to scientific work

More than a month after the Hubble Space Telescope went into safe mode after a second shutdown this year, it has been brought back to full scientific work. This was reported by NASA.

The famous telescope went into safe mode on October 25 after a loss of data sync was discovered. The project team immediately got to work trying to isolate the problem. According to the latest report, their efforts have been crowned with success.

The return of the Hubble to form will allow the telescope, which has been in orbit since 1990, to continue to operate, which has collected a huge amount of scientific data during its operation.

In the hope of preventing recurrence of problems, specialists will continue to develop and test changes in the software of the device that will allow the scientific program to be carried out, even if problems with the synchronization of messages again arise in the future. The first of the software updates is planned to be installed on the Cosmic Origins spectrograph in mid-December. Other instruments installed on the Hubble drill will receive similar updates at a later date.
