Huawei HiSilicon Single Chip Systems are making a comeback. HiSilicon Skylight 800 name has already been denied

Huawei has released an official statement stating that it is returning to its own HiSilicon SoCs after a two-year hiatus.

So far, the only poster says that the company will re-enter the single-chip market in 2022, and fans are encouraged to follow the news.

Soon after the announcement, already on the Chinese forum Bilibili, rumors spread that the next single-chip system of the Huawei HiSilicon family would be called HiSilicon Skylight 800. However, Huawei representatives quickly reacted, saying that this was not the case.

Until 2019, the following brands were represented on the market for single-chip systems: Snapdragon from Qualcomm, Helio and Dimensity from MediaTek, Exynos from Samsung and HiSilicon Kirin from Huawei. It is worth noting that the HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC installed in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro at that time surpassed all the flagships of 2018, including the Snapdragon 845. Back in 2018, HiSilicon Kirin SoCs supported 40W charging.

However, after the imposition of US sanctions, Huawei could no longer order the production of chips from its partner TSMC.
