Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC may soon launch a new smartphone in the country. The company teased a new product through a social media post on Wednesday, although its model or launch date has not been disclosed. This could potentially be a smartphone from the HTC U24 series.

In the post, a device with the text Al24U is visible, suggesting it could be a smartphone from the HTC U24 series. This series may include the HTC U24 and HTC U24 Pro models. Recently, one of these smartphones was spotted on the benchmarking site Geekbench and Bluetooth SIG with the model number 2QDA100. This smartphone may feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC with 12 GB RAM and run on Android 14.
These smartphones may offer upgrades compared to the HTC U23 and U23 Pro. They could feature Full HD+ OLED displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. HTC is set to re-enter the market with the launch of these new smartphones. The company, which primarily targets the premium segment of the smartphone market, had scaled back its mobile division a few years ago due to tough competition from Chinese smartphone makers.
Last year, HTC launched the Wildfire E Star smartphone, featuring a 6.5-inch LCD display (720 x 1,600 pixels). This dual SIM smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It is powered by the Unisoc SC9832E processor. Released in Africa, the HTC Wildfire E Star comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, expandable via a microSD card.
