Instagram is such a photo sharing app that almost everyone is now using. One of its most popular features is the Story and Reel feature. Those who run Instagram know that the story lasts only for 24 hours, and after that it ends. However, the social media platform allows its users to save stories in the archive. But there is no easy way to save Instagram Stories for more than 24 hours.
But to do this, the company gives a special option, which very few people are able to use. Meta-owned Instagram gives users the option to feature stories on their profiles by grouping them into highlights.
Instagram users can make a highlight of anything they’ve already shared in their story even after it disappears. Story highlights appear in a new section under the profile photo.
Users can select any story from their archive section. Can give a name and a cover to add it as a highlight.
The app allows its users to create as many highlights as they want and they stay on their profile until they are removed.
Let’s know how to create new story highlight and how users can add story to their existing highlight.
How to Create a New Story Highlight
1) Open the Instagram app on your Android or iOS device.
2) Go to your profile by tapping on your profile photo available at the bottom right corner.
3) Under the Story Highlights tab, tap on the New button.
4) In the upper right corner, tap the Next button after selecting the story or stories you want to add to your new Highlight.
5) Tap on edit cover option to choose cover photo and enter a name for your highlight, then you can tap on add option available on top right side.
6You can edit your highlight at any time by tapping the highlight, tapping More Action in the bottom right, then tapping Edit Highlight.
How to add a story to an existing Highlight
1) Open the Instagram app on your Android or iOS device.
2) Go to your profile and tap on your profile photo available on the top left to view your story.
3) Tap on the Highlight option available at the bottom right of the story you want to add to your highlights.
4) Now select the highlight you want to add to your story.
5) Whenever you want, you can also add a story to your highlight by tapping and holding on the highlight, then selecting the option to edit the highlight.
