Instagram users can hide views and likes from their own and other people’s posts.
Apart from this, users can also hide the likes on their old posts.
Instagram had given these facilities to the users earlier this year itself.
New Delhi. Instagram is a popular messaging app owned by Meta. It allows its users to share photos, videos and reels. Earlier this year, Instagram introduced a new feature through which users can hide views and likes from posts from their own and other people’s. It’s easy enough to hide the number of likes and views of other people’s posts.
To hide the number of likes and views from a post, you first go to your Instagram profile. Here tap on the three-lines menu at the top right of the page and select the option ‘Settings’. Here go to the ‘Privacy’ section and tap on Posts. You will see an option to Hide Likes and View Counts. Turn it on and you won’t see the number of likes or views on other people’s posts anymore.
Plus, Instagram users also have the option to choose whether other people can see the number of likes and views on their posts. If you want to hide likes and views on a post, tap on Advanced settings and tap ‘Hide likes and view count on this post’ before sharing the post.
You can also hide likes on old posts
Instagram users also have the option to hide the number of likes and views on already shared posts. If you want to do this, first open the post whose likes and view count you want to hide. After this, tap on the three dot menu on the top right of the post and select the option of ‘Hide Like Count’.
Instagram is asking for age-verification documents
Meanwhile, legal and privacy experts in India have criticized the new features of Instagram, which ask users for age-verification documents. Instagram now gives users three options to verify their age. These include uploading an ID, recording a video selfie, or verifying a friend. This feature is applicable to users below 18 years of age when they update their date of birth on the platform.
