Switch to your Windows 11 desktop or laptop and press Windows + R to open the Run dialog. Alternatively, you can also right click on the Start icon on the taskbar of your system and then select the Run option.
Then you have to type Regedit and click on Enter or OK.
Then, go to the path reading- Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics. You can also copy and paste this registry location into the address bar.
You will see two registry items Icon Spacing which changes the icon spacing horizontally; and Icon Vertical Spacing which changes the icon space vertically.
It may be noted that the default value of both the registry items is -1125 and the range is -480 to -2730. You will need to modify these numbers. If you increase the value it will decrease the icon space, if you decrease the value it will increase the icon space.
Once the value has been changed, click OK. Then you have to sign out of your user account and restart your computer and login again.
You will be able to see the change made in the icon spacing.
