How Much Chocolate Should You Eat Per Day to Maintain Mental Health

According to a study published in Nutritional Biochemistry, people who ate 30 grams of chocolate with 85 percent cocoa were 85 percent happier than others. Moreover, 30 grams is approximately 1/3 of the usual 100-gram bar of this product.

In the experiment conducted by scientists, 46 people participated. They were divided into three groups. Some three weeks ate every day 30 grams of chocolate with 85% cocoa, others – 30 grams of chocolate with 70% cocoa, and still others refused chocolate altogether. As a result, negative moods decreased in the group that consumed chocolate with the highest cocoa content. In addition, these subjects had a more varied composition of intestinal bacteria.
