The authors of the publication “Behind the wheel” tested the Chinese Kaiyi E5 sedan, which has recently been assembled in Kaliningrad.
The authors note that the 147-horsepower car engine is already well known for crossovers Chery, Exeed and Omoda. There you can also find the variator, which is available in the E5. That is, there should be no problems with spare parts, and there are already some statistics regarding reliability.
For some reason, the manufacturer does not indicate the dynamic characteristics of the machine. One would think that this is due to its slowness, but the authors note that the car feels dynamic. Related models with the same internal combustion engine accelerate to 100 km / h in about 10 seconds. True, the same related models at the same time consume more than 10 liters per 100 km in urban mode.
There are also many disadvantages or just features. For example, in a car, there was mediocre sound insulation, the gas pedal was not tuned in the best way, and the electric drive for lifting the back of the driver’s seat did not work normally at all: the contact went out. An important disadvantage is the fairly stiff and loud suspension.
At the moment, the sedan is sold only in the top configuration for almost 2 million rubles.
