How games work on the most expensive Apple MacBook Pro with an M1 Max processor

Host Luke Miani tested the 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro (2021) in the base configuration. It features an M1 Max chip, 24-core GPU, 32GB of RAM, 512GB of storage.

In Final Cut Pro (Render), the processor was only three seconds faster than the M1 Pro with 16GB of RAM and a few seconds slower than the 16-inch Pro version on the M1 Max with 32 cores and 64GB of RAM. In Final Cut Pro (Export), all models likewise had a difference in results of only a few seconds. In some other similar tests, the gap was more visible: for example, in Geekbench Compute, it was 1000 points between notebooks with 16-core, 24-core and 32-core GPUs. In all cases, the MacBook Pro 14 “with 32 GB of RAM and 24 cores was in the middle in the results.
