How did Kota’s anti-suicide system fail? After the death of a JEE aspirant, his father raised questions – How did Kota anti suicide system fail After the death of a JEE aspirant his father made serious allegations amnr

Questions are being raised on the failure of anti-suicide system in Kota, known as the coaching hub. On Tuesday night, 19-year-old Neeraj Jat committed suicide in his hostel room. The incident has forced not only the family but also the administration to think. Neeraj was a resident of Nava Mahendragarh, Haryana and was preparing for JEE Mains in Kota for the last two years. He lived in Anand Kunj Residency Hostel.

Father made serious allegations
At the time of the incident, the fan in the room had an anti-hanging device, due to which suicide is considered impossible. To escape from the device, Neeraj made a noose by putting a rope in the fan handle. Neeraj’s father Bablu Prajapat has raised questions on the hostel administration and police investigation. The student’s father said that he spoke to his best friend on the phone and asked him whether Neeraj had any fight with anyone. He told him to come here and talk to him, but no one told him anything. He said, “The son used to say that there is such a system here that no one can commit suicide. Then how could he hang himself? Why didn’t the petals of the fan break and why didn’t the fan fall down? I suspect that something wrong happened with him.” There should be an investigation.”

Bablu Prajapat, father of deceased student Neeraj Jat, told that I had two sons, one son is doing NEET coaching in Sikar. Second Neeraj was preparing for JEE Mains. I spoke to Neeraj on phone at 3.20 pm on Tuesday afternoon, ‘I told him that it is practical for you to get a train ticket to come home on 9th January. After this I called once or twice, but he did not pick up. I cannot understand why he took such a step as suicide. He had no problem. Between 9:30 and 10:00 pm, a call was made to the hostel staff that the child was not picking up the phone. Get him to talk to me.

The hostel staff told that Neeraj had gone out to eat dinner with his friend on Tuesday evening. He did not look stressed. He did not open the door during attendance at night. On peeping through the skylight, his body was found hanging. Jawahar Nagar police station officer Budhraj Chaudhary said that the investigation of the case is going on.

Suicide incidents in Kota are a growing concern

In Kota, for the mental health of students and to prevent suicide, anti-hanging device has been made mandatory, which should be installed in every fan. Despite this, such incidents are becoming a matter of concern. Neeraj’s father has demanded an in-depth investigation from the administration so that the truth can come out. This incident once again raises serious questions on the mental health and safety of students in Kota. This is the second student suicide case in the last 10 days.
