BMW Motorrad has launched its flagship motorcycle in the Indian market in its 2023 avatar. The S 1000 RR (BMW S1000RR) is now more powerful than its predecessor.
In this, cosmetic changes have been made to increase the speed of the bike along with new aerodynamic upgrades which make the 2023 version look new from the existing BMW bike. The price of 2023 BMW S 1000 RR starts at ₹ 20.25 Lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to ₹ 24.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
It will be sold in three variants – Standard, Pro and Pro M Sport. It has a 999 cc engine. Which with four-cylinder gives maximum power of 206 bhp at 13,750 rpm and generates 113 Nm torque.
New livery is seen in the form of cosmetic changes in the bike. Up top are the winglets which now generate up to 10 kg of downforce depending on the rider’s speed. This extra weight helps in providing more friction to the wheels during acceleration.
The rear section has also been redesigned to make it lighter and sportier. The number plate holder has also been shortened now. As an accessory, there is a new hump cover and seat back.
Standard instruments on the motorcycle have been changed. It now gets a USB charging socket and an M battery as standard. The 6.5-inch TFT screen now gets more functions and a new rev counter display. The TFT screen can be controlled using the multi-controller located on the left handlebar.
The motorcycle comes with ABS Pro but now also gets brake slide assist and ABS Pro “sleek” setting functions. The new ‘Slick’ setting is specially designed for treadless slick tyres. The new brake slide assist function allows the rider to slide out the rear before the system kicks in.
