Honda will bring two new electric scooters, will enter the market by 2024

Upcoming Electric Scooters: Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India currently does not sell any electric model in the country. But now the company is about to bring two new electric scooters to the market in the financial year 2024.

Will be ready on new platform

Honda’s new electric scooters will be built on a new dedicated platform, which is being called the codename ‘E’ platform. Using this new platform will help in making many electric vehicles with different battery packs and installations. The company’s electric vehicle to be launched next year will be a mid-range electric scooter.

Electric Activa may enter

Honda’s first electric scooter is likely to be an affordable model, this new scooter is being called the Honda Activa Electric. Honda has recently applied for a patent for a battery pack and hub motor, which can be used for this e-scooter. Honda has informed that its second electric model will come with a swappable battery. Along with this, the company will also set up several battery swapping points across the country.

Company will make charging stations

The company will set up its charging stations at more than 6000 network touchpoints across the country. Some of which are being converted into Workshop ‘E’. In this, facilities like HEID battery exchangers and mini battery exchangers for swappable battery types and charging cables for fixed battery types will be provided. Along with this, the company is preparing to provide many EV facilities including battery swapping stations at petrol pumps, metro stations and other places to provide easy battery swapping for its EV users.

Ola will compete with Ace One

Honda Activa Electric can compete with Ola S One or S One Pro, Honda has not yet given information about its powertrain. Both these electric scooters of Ola are capable of giving a range of 121 and 181 km respectively.
