Honda two-wheeler sales in August give tough competition to Hero MotoCorp

The total sales of Honda two-wheeler has reached equal to that of Hero MotoCorp. Hero MotoCorp recorded total sales of 4,62,608 units last month. Commenting on the sales performance, HMSI said that the market performance is gaining steady momentum over the last month as well as on year-on-year basis. The company offers a wide range of motorcycles and scooters. Honda Two-Wheeler is confident that the company will further add to the joy of the customers during the festive season with attractive finance schemes available across its touchpoints.

Honda has also recently launched Activa 6G Premium Edition, Dio Sports Edition and Shine Celebration Edition. In addition, the company in August introduced an all-new motorcycle, the CB300F, with a starting price of Rs 2.26 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Honda CB300F will compete with big engine bikes like BMW G 310 R, KTM Duke 250 and Bajaj Dominar 400.

Talking about Honda’s two wheelers, Honda Shine is the best seller among bikes and Honda Activa among scooters. The company recently launched the Celebration Edition of Shine. The price of this edition has been kept at Rs 78,878 ex-showroom, Delhi. The Shine Celebration Edition is offered in Red and Black with attractive Golden Paint. Apart from this, a seat matching the color of the bike has also been installed.

Apart from the paint, there is no technical change in the bike. It uses the same 123.94 cc single cylinder air-cooled engine as the standard model. This engine provides maximum power of 10.6 bhp and torque of 11 Nm. The company offers the Honda Shine in drum and disc brake variants.

In August this year itself, the company also launched the premium edition of its best selling scooter Activa 6G. The company has launched this scooter at a price of Rs 75,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This scooter is Rs 1,000 more expensive than the top-spec Honda Activa DLX variant. Prices of Honda Activa 6G Standard variant start at Rs.72,400 (ex-showroom).

According to the company, the aim of launching the premium edition is to attract more and more young customers. The premium edition of Activa 6G has been introduced in Gloden Accent with three new colours. In the premium edition, gold paint can be seen on the front apron, logo and wheels of the scooter.

Changes in the Activa 6G Premium Edition are also limited to the paint. The design and engine of the scooter remain the same as the standard model. The Activa 6G Premium Edition is powered by the standard model’s 109.51 cc air-cooled engine, which produces 7.80 Bhp of peak power and 8.84 Nm of peak torque. In view of the festivals, soon the company can announce discounts and offers.
