How will the Honda Elevate SUV be?
The upcoming Honda Elevate SUV is likely to use the same platform that underpins the fifth generation Honda City sedan. Its length will be around 4.2-4.3 meters and its design can be similar to the design of CR-V (CR-V) and HR-V (HR-V) SUVs sold in the foreign market. It can be expected that this mid-size SUV will be full of features and will also get level-2 ADAS technology. However, the latest teaser of the SUV shows a simple electric sunroof, which suggests that there will be no panoramic sunroof.
engine and gearbox
Like the City sedan, Honda is likely to offer two powertrain options with the Elevate SUV. The first will be a 121 bhp 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and CVT. It should also get a 1.5-litre Atkinson Cycle Petrol Strong Hybrid unit with two electric motors which will be mated to an e-CVT.
price and competition
The new Honda Elevate SUV will make its global debut in India on June 6, 2023, while its market launch could happen in the month of August this year. Its ex-showroom price is expected to be between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18 lakh. The Honda Elevate will directly compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
