The design of the Honda City e:HEV is based on its fifth generation. According to the information, it can be brought in two trims – V and ZX. The Honda City e:HEV badge has been given on its boot door. Currently Honda City is available in petrol and diesel variants.

Honda has used i-MMD hybrid technology in the City Hybrid. Honda is currently using this technology in its global models of hybrid cars. Honda’s Sensing technology is a package of safety features that includes a host of safety features including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Auto High Beam Assist, Emergency Braking among others. Advance Driving Assistance System (ADAS) can be given in its top variant.
Equipped with hybrid engine
The engine of the new Honda City Hybrid is very special. It is a hybrid engine that uses Honda’s i-MMD hybrid technology. It has two electric motors fitted with an internal combustion engine (IC). This engine is a 1.5 liter Atkinson hybrid petrol engine that will generate 98 bhp power and 127 newton meter torque.
While its two electric motors will together generate a maximum power of 108 Bhp and peak torque of 253 Nm. Electric motors will be fitted to the front wheels of the car, which will be mated to a single fixed-ratio gearbox.

Honda claims that the City Hybrid can deliver a mileage of 26.5 kms on 1 liter of petrol, which is ARAI certified. The car has a fuel tank of 40 liters which means that in hybrid it can give a mileage of 1,000 kms on full tank fuel. This figure is much higher than any other car in its category.
How much will be the price?
Due to the hybrid engine, the Honda City Hybrid will cost more than the regular variant. The company has started taking bookings through dealerships. Its price can be around 22-25 lakh rupees. Currently, Honda City 4th Gen price starts at Rs 9.29 Lakh (Ex-showroom) and 5th Gen price starts at Rs 11.28 Lakh (Ex-showroom).
These cars will compete
The Indian market has premium cars like Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna against Honda City, but Honda City Hybrid is going to compete with sedans like Volkswagen Vertus and Skoda Slavia which are available with more powerful 1.5 TSI engine.
