City facelift will come with new design
According to the information, the City sedan can be brought with minor changes. The company can make changes in its design while the engine is going to be of the current model. If reports are to be believed, the new City can be launched in India in 2024. There is also information that it will be brought only in petrol engine.
Images of the test model reveal that the Honda City facelift has received minor design changes, including new fog lamp housing and front bumper with airdam. While there is no image showing the rear of the car, it is likely that the city facelift will also get a restyled rear bumper. On the interiors, it is likely that the company will update the infotainment system and add more equipment.
Diesel models will be discontinued
The Honda City facelift is expected to come with a 1.5-litre petrol as well as a petrol-hybrid option available on the current model. Honda is preparing to drop its diesel engine line-up early next year. The company is about to discontinue the diesel engine lineup in India with the new phase of BS6 emission norms.
Honda has already announced that the current-gen Jazz, WR-V and 4th-gen City will be discontinued soon. The company will sell the Amaze and City sedans and will simultaneously launch a new compact SUV to take on the Hyundai Creta. Currently, Honda is offering the WR-V sub-compact SUV in India. However, this SUV has not been able to show anything amazing so far. If Honda’s new SUV is launched in India, then it will compete with Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonnet and Nissan Magnite.
Let us tell you that Honda has not yet entered the mid-size SUV market in India. As of now, the company is working on a new mid-size SUV for India which can be launched in 2023. The company currently sells Amaze, City, City E: HEV (Hybrid) and WRV in its line-up.
The company has recently announced the launch of a new SUV in the Indonesian market. The company has also shared a teaser of this SUV, in which the company has named this car as RS. It is being told in the reports that this Honda concept car which could be an updated model of WR-V.
The company has prepared a plan to launch 30 electric cars by 2030 as part of its electrification plan. During this time Honda will produce 2 million electric vehicles worldwide. Honda is currently selling electric cars like Honda One EV and Honda-E in the international market.
