The Hero Vida V1 electric scooters can be charged using Ather Energy’s fast charging network. Tarun Mehta, CEO, Ather Energy said, “We are excited that Hero MotoCorp is the first OEM to go on Ather Grid. This will ease the process of charging millions of EV owners in the years to come.” Ather Grid is the fast charging network for electric two wheelers.
Presently Ather Grid is available in 30 cities of the country and a total of 350 Ather Grids have been installed. In August last year, Ather Energy made its fast charging network available to other electric two-wheeler manufacturers. Mehta had said, “Any OEM can use their vehicle and charger for free. Ather integration is also going to help for free.”
Electric two-wheeler sales in the country have seen a huge growth in the last 2-3 years but the charging infrastructure hasn’t expanded to match the growing sales, so Ather has come forward to share its charging infrastructure. Till now no company had come up with such an offer. Now Hero MotoCorp will be the first company to use charging infrastructure under this.
The Hero Vida electric scooter has been brought in two variants – V1 Pro and V1 Plus, which have been priced at Rs 1.59 lakh and V1 Plus at Rs 1.45 lakh respectively. Talking about the range, the Vida V1 Pro is going to provide a range of 165 km, while the Vida V1 Plus is going to provide a range of 143 km. With the fast charger, both the scooters can be charged for a distance of 1.2 km on a charge of just one minute.
In terms of performance, both the electric scooters have a top speed of 80 km/h. The Vida V1 Pro takes 3.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h, while the V1 Plus takes 3.4 seconds. The company is also building a charging network to charge its electric scooters, which will be a part of the Vida ecosystem.
In the Vida ecosystem, the company will provide a host of features including a specially designed charging network, service platform, experience center and more for its electric scooter customers. Both the scooters get a large 7-inch touchscreen display with Bluetooth connectivity, keyless control, reverse mode, three ride modes (Eco, Ride Sport and Custom), smartphone connectivity, safety alarm, cruise control etc.
Hero has forayed into the segment of electric scooters and is being well received by the customers. The company has taken care of the most important thing charging, due to which it is going to take the help of Ather along with its charging system, this will give a lot of convenience to the customers.
