Hero MotoCorp has reported sales of 4,058,054 units during the nine months of FY2023, up 8 percent from sales of 3,755,266 units in the same period last fiscal.
However, the company’s sales remained stable at 394,179 units in December, as against 394,733 units in December 2021.
Home sales rose 1.8 percent to 381,365, compared to 374,485 sold in December 2021. Exports, on the other hand, declined by 36.83 per cent as it stood at 12,814 units as compared to 20,288 units in the same month last year. In December 2022, the company sold 356,749 motorcycles, down 5.3 percent as compared to 376,862 sold in the same period last year.
Scooter sales, on the other hand, stood at 37,430 in December 2021 as compared to 17,911 registering a massive growth of 108 per cent. The company plans to take the scooters to major cities. After Bengaluru, the company will start delivery of scooters in Delhi and Jaipur in a phased manner. Hero has launched the Vida V1 electric scooter range under the Vida brand. The Vida V1 competes with premium electric scooters like the Ather 450X, TVS iQube, Ola S1 Pro and the Bajaj Chetak in the Indian market.
Also, Hero recently launched the Xpulse 200T 4V at a price of Rs 1,25,726 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It now gets a more modern four-valve engine similar to the Xpulse 200 4V. Its cost is Rs 1,100 more than the 2V model. The XPulse 200T 4V has been introduced in three new colours.
Hero Xpulse 200T 4V is powered by a 199.6cc air-and-oil-cooled engine that produces 19.1 bhp power at 8,500 rpm and 17.3 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. These figures give 0.7 bhp and 0.2 Nm more output figures than the XPulse 200T 2V.
