Two variants of the Hero Optima CX could be launched on top of the existing Optima HX range of e-scooters. The primary difference between the Optima CX and Optima CX ER is the battery pack on offer, with the former offering a single battery unit, while the latter offers a dual battery pack.
The new Hero Optima CX is likely to be similar to its current model, the Optima HX, but may differ in terms of specifications. It is believed that the Hero Optima CX is expected to be 25 percent more powerful than the previous model.
Apart from this, the efficiency of its electric motor will also be 10 percent higher than before and as a result its speed will also increase. Apart from this, a bigger battery pack will be used in it, due to which its range will also increase.
Talking about the specifications found in the scooters, the Hero Optima range is going to get a 52.2 Volt, 30Ah Lithium Ferro Phosphate battery pack. The base Hero Optima CX variant gets a single unit that offers a range of up to 82 km while the Optima CX ER will be offered with dual batteries.
Its battery provides a range of up to 140 km on a full charge. With this battery pack, the company has used a 550W electric motor, which helps this scooter reach a maximum speed of 45 kmph and delivers a maximum power of 1.2kW (1.6 bhp).
For example, the Hero Optima HX has a top speed of 42 kmph. The braking has also been strengthened by 30 percent to compensate for the better performance. The charging time for both the variants will be around 4-5 hours, as the CX ER will come with a robust dual charger setup.
There is no other difference between the two variants, as the same features will be used on both the electric scooters. The Optima CX range will come with cruise control, walk assist, reverse mode, digital instrument cluster, USB charging port, LED headlamps and an anti-theft alarm with remote-key.
As far as the pricing is concerned, the Optima CX range could be priced slightly higher than the current Optima HX series from the company. It is believed that this range can be launched at a price of Rs 60,000 to Rs 70,000 (ex-showroom). The Optima CX range will be launched in three color options – Blue, Gray and White.
