Hero MotoCorp and Hindustan Petroleum join hands, will strengthen the structure of charging of electric vehicles

New Delhi.
Hero MotoCorp has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). This alliance has been done to set up the charging infrastructure for Electric Vehicles (EV) in the country. Under this initiative, both the companies will set up charging infrastructure for two-wheeler electric vehicles (EVs) across the country.

The two companies will first set up the charging infrastructure in HPCL’s existing network of power stations across the country. Thereafter the tie-up is likely to expand for complementary business opportunities. In the first phase, charging stations will be set up in select cities and then expanded to other important markets. It aims to increase the network density of EV charging stations across the country.

Hero MotoCorp will lead the infrastructure development for the charging network. Several smart and fast chargers for two wheeler EVs including DC and AC chargers will be available at each charging station. The entire user experience for charging will be controlled from the Hero MotoCorp mobile-app and will be based on cashless transactions.
