Hero Electric to set up mega electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Rajasthan, ₹ 1200 crore investment

Hero Electric, India’s largest electric two-wheeler company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan government to set up its mega electric vehicle manufacturing hub with an annual production capacity of two million units. The MoU was signed at the Invest Rajasthan Summit in the presence of senior state officials and Hero Electric’s Managing Director Naveen Munjal. Located in Salarpur Industrial Area, this modern manufacturing unit will be spread over an area of ​​170 acres and will start commercial production by the end of 2023.

This manufacturing plant of Hero Electric, ready to be built in Rajasthan, will have modern equipment, robotics, and latest technology and solar energy will also be used here. Hero Electric will make an estimated investment of over Rs 1,200 crore to set up its new manufacturing plant and will create direct and indirect job opportunities. Speaking on the occasion, Naveen Munjal, MD, Hero Electric said, “We are delighted to announce our new manufacturing facility in Solarpur, Rajasthan, reinforcing our commitment towards carbon-free mobility. We are grateful for the cooperation of the Government of Rajasthan in setting up our third Greenfield Plant, which will help in promoting circular economy in the Salarpur Industrial Area.

Naveen Munjal says that this mega manufacturing facility in Rajasthan is part of our capacity building efforts to increase the popularity of electric vehicles in India. Through this, the state will move towards clean mobility solution and ecological tourism will be promoted. On the other hand, Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric, said that this mega-sized greenfield facility and a large budget have enabled us to make energy efficient green manufacturing processes using the clean energy available in the state by combining the workmanship of the local artisan workforce and automation of robotic arms. given the opportunity to present. All existing and upcoming Hero Electric two-wheelers will be manufactured at this facility to give a boost to the Make-in-India vision.
