With two million electric vehicles projected to be on the roads by 2026, building charging infrastructure for EVs has become paramount. Electric Two Wheeler Company Hero Electric announced its partnership with EV charging platform ElectricPe to set up charging points across India for its customers. The collaboration requires Hero Electric riders to access ElectricPe’s charging network, as the company recently committed to installing 100,000 charging points by the end of this year.
The charging point network will be installed in residential complexes, offices, malls and other establishments, thereby reducing range concerns. The alliance will help strengthen the charging network and boost EV adoption across the country.
Speaking on the partnership, Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric said, “A strong charging network is critical for the growing EV sector to drive rapid adoption of EVs across the segment. The collaboration will provide a seamless charging and EV riding experience to customers by facilitating access through ElectricPay’s charging points that are being set up extensively across the country. With our vision and commitment to drive the development of electric vehicles, we are working hard to enhance the charging infrastructure. We are confident that this partnership will help promote electric vehicles and facilitate a smooth transition towards clean and green mobility solutions.
