Have you seen F1 to F12 on the keyboard? But still 90% people do not know its correct use, many things will surprise you.

We have been using computers and laptops for years. While working on this, our typing has also become fine, but there are still many such keys on the keyboard which we have not used yet. We must have seen the numbers till F1, F2…F12 on the keyboard.

But still many people do not know their correct use. But if you know them, then many of your tasks will be done in a jiffy…

F1:
-Opens the Help menu when pressed simultaneously with the Windows button.
– Hides/Displays the ribbon menu in Excel and Word when pressed with the Control button.

F2:
-Alt + Ctrl + F2 Opens the Document Library in Microsoft Office.
-Allows you to edit the selected folder or file name in Windows Explorer.
-Edits the active cell in Microsoft Excel.
-Ctrl + F2 Displays a print preview in Microsoft Word.

F3:
– Opens the search feature in Windows Explorer
-Shift+F3 lets you change from lowercase to uppercase in all caps in Word
– Opens the Search Find feature in Firefox and Chrome
– Opens Mission Control on an Apple computer running macOS X.

F4:
-Alt + F4 Closes the window.
– Places the cursor in the address bar in Explorer.

F5:
-Starts slideshow in PowerPoint
Refreshes the Internet browser page
-Ctrl + F5 will completely refresh a web page, clear the cache and re-download all content.
– Opens Find and Replace in Microsoft Office.

F6:
– Goes to the next page in split screen in Microsoft Word.
-Ctrl + Shift + F6 allows you to easily switch between Word documents.

F7:
-Alt+F7 Checks spelling and grammar in Microsoft Word
-Shift+F7 Opens thesaurus in Microsoft Word.

F8:
– In Excel, enables Extend Mode for the Arrow Keys.
Enables Safe Mode in Windows
-Displays thumbnail images for all workspaces in macOS.

F9:
– Refreshes the document in Microsoft Word.
-Sends and receives email in Outlook.
-Ctrl + F9 inserts an empty field into Word.

F10:
– Opens the menu bar.
-Ctrl + F10 maximizes the window in Word.
-Shift + F10 does the same thing as right click.

F11:
-Exit and enter full-screen mode in browsers.
-Shift + F11 Adds a new spreadsheet to Excel.
– Hides all open windows and shows the desktop in macOS 10.4 or later.

F12:
– Opens Open Save As in Word.
-Shift + F12 saves the Word document.
-Ctrl + F12 Opens a Word document.
-Ctrl + Shift + F12 prints a Word document.
– In macOS 10.4 or later, F12 shows and hides the Dashboard.
