The fake emails were found to come from an official FBI email address that ends with @ ic.fbi.gov. Although the computers affected by the incident “were quickly shut down after the problem was discovered,” the FBI said the problem has not yet been resolved.
Twitter posted a copy of the fake email. The subject line read “Urgent: Threat Subject in Systems.” It ended with a signature from the Department of Homeland Security.
Recently, it also became known that hackers attacked the security systems of the British jewelry house Graff Diamonds and gained access to the data of many celebrities, including Donald Trump.
