Parents say that they had received messages with nude pictures in the private chat of the app. The report mentioned that these photos were sent through the Seesaw app to school teachers in Illinois, New York, Oklahoma and Texas and in private chats to parents of students studying in schools. Seesaw has refused to say anything about how many people have been affected by this incident.
Trying to stop sharing photos
The platform said in a statement that this incident was carried out from a specific user account and we are taking it very seriously. The report quoted a company spokesperson as saying that a team is currently making sure that these images can be prevented from being sent or viewed by any Seesaw users.
Schools issued warnings
According to the information, these pictures were sent to some parents and teachers as links to Bitly, a popular link-shortening service. Some schools have issued warnings to parents not to open links sent through Seesaw. Schools have warned that please do not open any ‘Bitly’ link sent this morning. Apart from this, schools have advised parents to talk with teachers through email.
