Hackers began to disguise viruses as crypto wallets To steal data and money

According to specialists from Doctor Web, which develops the antivirus of the same name, cases of theft of data and funds from crypto wallets have become more frequent on the Internet. Hackers steal data and money using Trojans that imitate original applications that are downloaded from fake sites that are almost indistinguishable from the real ones.

Malicious copies of applications such as MetaMask, TokenPocket, imToken, Bitpie, and others are reportedly being distributed. Viruses steal special seed phrases needed to access wallets.

The experts reminded of the need to download applications from official sources, Google Play and the App Store. And in order not to download the program from a fake site, it was recommended to pay attention to the following nuances: typos in application descriptions, inconsistencies between the provided screenshots and the actual functionality of applications, and the absence of previous versions of applications.
