The company GPD, specializing in “pocket” gaming laptops, has announced another novelty for gamers. The characteristics of the model called Win Max 2 are already known – it will be able to compete with the brainchild of Valve, and even surpass it in one of the important parameters.
According to the company, the novelty will be equipped with a 10-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1200 or 2560×1600 pixels, depending on the configuration. At the same time, due to the thin frames, the dimensions of the device will be only 228×160 mm versus 207×145 mm for the 8-inch predecessor. The “heart” of GPD Win Max 2 will be a 14-core Intel Core i7-1280P processor with a maximum clock speed of 4.8 GHz.
The mini-laptop will be presented in different versions with up to 32 GB of RAM and a PCIe 4.0 SSD with a capacity of up to 2 TB (the “ceiling” of Steam Deck is only 512 GB). Other features include a 65 Wh battery, four stereo speakers, Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, as well as a webcam and backlit QWERTY keyboard.
GPD has not yet disclosed the design and price of the future novelty, limiting itself to a schematic image without any details about the locations of the controls. The announcement of GPD Win Max 2 is expected towards the end of this year.
