Government strict on incidents of fire in electric vehicle! Notice sent to five companies

CCPA Notice for EV Company: In the recent past, there have been many incidents of fire in electric vehicles, after which the government has issued a notice showing strictness on such incidents. On Tuesday, the Consumer Protection Regulator CCPA, while issuing notices to five electric vehicle makers, has taken cognizance of incidents of vehicle fire and battery explosion. Talking to the media, Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) Chief Commissioner Nidhi Khare informed that the authority will soon hear the matter and strict steps will be taken to overcome the problem of the customers.

The Central Consumer Protection Authority has issued show cause notices to 4 to 5 companies, taking cognizance of the incidents of fire in electric vehicles in the country. Along with this, questions have also been asked that action should not be taken against these companies for any reason.

Let us tell you that in the recent past, there have been many such cases in different parts of the country when there has been loss of both life and property due to fire in electric vehicle. Incidents of fire in parked vehicles have also been reported at many places. Since then, the Central Consumer Protection Authority is trying to know whether these companies have fully followed the Safe Standard or not. Along with this, when the product was sold in the market, whether the product was able to pass the Standard Testing Manual or not.

Steps being taken in view of the safety of the people
The CCPA is very strict about these incidents of fire and strict steps are being taken for the safety of the people. Taking cognizance of this matter itself, the CCPA has asked the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) to investigate and submit a report on this matter. Let us inform that in view of these incidents, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had ordered DRDO to investigate the matters which will now be presented before the CCPA.
