Google trolls Apple for lack of innovation in iPhone 14

A month after the release of the iPhone 14, Google released its own flagship phones of the Pixel 7 series. At the launch event, Google decided to troll Apple and the iPhone 14, saying that Apple is a follower of other companies in terms of smartphone innovation.

In particular, Google explicitly stated that the always-on screen in the iPhone 14 Pro has long been presented in Pixel smartphones, as well as the analogue of Live Activities. Brian Rakowski, VP of Product Management at Google, said of the Pixel 7 series, “Pixel has always been a leader in smartphone innovation. We take it as a compliment when our competitors follow in our footsteps, in particular by repeating the way information is displayed on the lock screen.”

He also stressed, “Three years ago, we launched collision detection for car accidents, as well as other important ways to ensure user safety, such as security checks and emergency data sharing. Both of these groundbreaking features were first introduced with the Pixel.”

Car crash detection is also one of the few new features on the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch.
