Google is looking for a team for “Augmented Reality OS”. According to the job list, the team will create “software components that monitor and control hardware in augmented reality products.” It’s worth noting that the company’s first such device, Google Glass, runs on Android.
Most of the staff will be based in the United States, but some will be based in Waterloo, Canada. This is where North, the augmented reality company that developed the Focals smart glasses, is based.
While the upcoming Google product remains mysterious, nothing is known about it. Apple is also working on a similar device. It may come out next year.
