Gone is the era: Microsoft has stopped production of all versions of the Xbox One


Microsoft has stopped production of Xbox One consoles – all versions released since 2013. Confirmation was received by journalists.

Ahead of the launch of the modern Xbox Series X, the company stopped producing the Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, which debuted in 2017 and 2019, respectively. At the end of 2020, the regular Xbox One S was also discontinued without any announcements.

Now for a resource for The Verge, Xbox Senior Marketing Director Cindy Walker elaborated:

In order to focus on Xbox Series X/S production, we have ceased production of all Xbox One consoles by the end of 2020.”

This confirmation was received from Microsoft after stirred up the news network that Sony planned to stop production of the PS4 at the end of 2021, but changed its mind due to the shortage of PS5 and will release about a million PS4 consoles in 2022.
