Global PC Shipments Up 3.1% in Q4 2021

Analyst firm Counterpoint Technology has calculated that global PC shipments in the fourth quarter of 2021 reached 90.3 million units. Growth in annual terms amounted to 3.1%. This is a good indicator, given the high base in the fourth quarter of 2020. Analysts note that the situation with the supply of components and logistics continued to improve, albeit at a slow pace. The outlook for the first quarter of 2022 remains optimistic, mainly due to strong demand and an improvement in the situation with components.

Lenovo remains the market leader. For the year, it reduced shipments by 3%, from 22.4 to 21.7 million PCs. At the end of the quarter, Lenovo occupies 24.0% of the market. The share of HP is 20.5%. This manufacturer slightly increased supplies – from 18.4 to 18.5 million units. The Dell company increased deliveries by 15%, from 14.9 to 17.2 million pieces. It ranks third among PC manufacturers with 19.0%. Fourth-place Apple cut shipments by 1% from 7.3 million to 7.2 million. Apple’s share is 8.0%.
