New Delhi. 5G spectrum is going to be auctioned to take calling and internet to the fifth phase. Voda-Idea, Airtel and Jio are going to participate in this auction. But a new report has revealed that businessman Gautam Adani’s group is also preparing to make a surprise entry in the auction of 5G spectrum. Gautam Adani’s entry is being seen a direct competition to Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio and telecom giant Sunil Bharti Mittal’s Airtel.
The auction for the airwaves is going to be held on July 26. Only those who can provide ultra-high-speed internet connectivity i.e. 5G will participate in this auction. Its application has been closed on Friday, in which 4 companies participated. Jio, Airtel and Voda-Idea are the three giants in the telecom sector. In such a situation, the discussion of Gautam Adani’s company has started regarding the fourth company.
According to the reports, the fourth application has come from Adani Group itself. Because the group has recently got National Long Distance and International Long Distance License. However, no official information has been received about it yet. There has been no reaction from the Adani Group on such reports so far. If you look at the timeline of the auction, it is known that the information of the companies participating in the auction will be revealed on July 12.
Internet will run at double the speed after 5G
Since 2015, there has been a rapid expansion of 4G services across the country, due to which digital connectivity has increased significantly. Talking about broadband users, their number has touched the record figure of 800 million. Whereas till 2014 this picture was completely different. Because at that time there were only 100 million users of broadband. The total cost of spectrum has been fixed at around Rs 5 lakh crore. This auction will be done for 20 years.
