While updates on the fourth installment of The Witcher and the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 have been scarce, CD Projekt RED is exploring avenues to maintain the interest of its audience, including venturing into mobile gaming.
In the latest report to CDPR investors, studio head Michal Kaczynski mentioned that the company is contemplating outsourcing the development of mobile spin-offs for its franchises to third-party developers. However, as of now, the studio has not solidified any specific plans for future games beyond the projects already announced.
Nevertheless, this won’t mark CD Projekt RED’s first foray into mobile spin-offs, although previous projects were handled internally. For instance, in 2021, The Witcher: Monster Slayer was launched on smartphones—a game akin to the popular Pokémon GO, which was discontinued two years later. Additionally, the mobile version of GWENT remains available to users.
