This is a premium feature that was earlier only seen on high-end cars, especially Volvo cars. But with increasing technology and the need for safer roads, ADAS is largely being offered on mid-range cars as well. There are six levels of ADAS, but most cars around the world have only reached the second level of technology. In India also there are many cars equipped with ADAS technology which come with Level-2 i.e. ADAS Level-2. Here we are going to tell you about some of the upcoming cars with ADAS feature in India. 1. MG Gloster
The MG Gloster was the first car in India to be introduced with ADAS technology. This car uses ADAS Level-2. Gloster’s ADAS suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane-keep assistance, front collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, high-beam control, blind-spot detection and rear cross traffic alert. It is the most expensive car to come with the ADAS feature, but has all the features that you will not find in any car on this list.
The MG Gloster also gets semi-parking assist. Where it controls the steering wheel of the car and you just have to work on the brakes and accelerator.
2. MG Ester
The second car in the list to come with the ADAS is MG’s recently launched MG Astor SUV. Aster offers ADAS technology only in its top-end Sharp (O) (Savy) variants, starting at Rs 16.50 lakh. Its ADAS technology includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, front collision warning, automatic emergency braking (also for pedestrians), high-beam assist, blind-spot detection and rear cross-section.
The MG ZS EV also gets select ADAS features, but it is not in its full suite. It gets rear drive assist, blind spot detection system, rear cross-traffic alert and lane change assist.
3. Mahindra XUV700
Mahindra XUV700’s top variant AX7 has been introduced with ADAS technology. The ADAS list of the XUV700 includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, high-beam assist and traffic sign recognition. However, the blind-view monitor and adaptive cruise control are only offered on the top-spec AX7 L variant.
4. Honda City Hybrid
Apart from being the first self-charging strong-hybrid car in its segment, the Honda City is also equipped with ADAS feature. Its ADAS suite gets lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, road-departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control and automatic high-beam. While there is no blind-spot monitoring or rear cross traffic alert. It gets a lane-watch camera which is mounted on the left side outside the rear-view mirror.
5. 2022 Hyundai Tucson
The new generation Hyundai Tucson (2022 Hyundai Tucson) will be Hyundai’s first car to come with the ADAS feature in India. The company is about to launch the new Tucson in India in August 2022. Tucson’s ADAS features include Front Collision Warning (for car, pedestrian, bicycle and junction turns), Blind Spot Collision Warning, Lane-Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Safe Exit Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, High-beam Assist, Leading Features like Vehicle Departure Alert, and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning will be included.
Right now, there are only five cars on this list that are currently equipped with ADAS technology. Hyundai is planning to launch more ADAS cars, which will also be followed by Niya Motor. Since this safety feature is being given in MG Aster, so soon Hector can also get this feature. By the end of 2023, we will see many more cars on this list.
