Fraudulent calls involving robots have skyrocketed in Russia

A large bank told reporters that so far, nine out of ten phone attacks are robotic. The bank from the top 20 noted that there are about half of such calls. It is noted that the practice of fraudulent attacks with automatic dial-up of the base appeared about six months ago, but then cases were isolated.

Now, many banks have implemented voice assistants, and there is a reason to use such bots. There are several advantages to using robots for calling out: increased victim coverage and low cost. In addition, the population seems to trust more robots.

Attack options are different. Sometimes the robot asks the victim to enter the code from the SMS, sometimes it only dials the subscriber.
