Everyone loves sales and discounts on Steam – how can you resist when the game you’re interested in is sold for pennies? Cunning scammers recently decided to take advantage of this instinct.
Internet users noticed that the price of the PC version of Helldivers 2 suddenly changed: instead of the usual 40 dollars, they started selling it for 12.5 and 20. As it turned out, this is a hoax – no, not at all a generous promotion from Sony and Arrowhead Game Studios. It’s just that the company Bside Studio decided to cash in on inattentive people and quietly redesigned the page for a couple of its titles. People were amazed that Valve still allowed such “pranks” on its platform.
Let us remind you that this is not the first such story. In December 2022, other scammers “released” Escape from Tarkov on Steam. Other people later decided to repeat this trick at the end of 2023. Also unsuccessful.
