However, many who are waiting for cheap 5G recharge plans are likely to be in for a shock. 4G tariff may be hiked before the launch of 5G telecom services. 4G Recharge Plans may increase by up to 30 percent in the next few months.

Recharge plans will be expensive again
Before the launch of 5G, the price of 4G recharge plans may be hiked again. Crisil Ratings, Nomura and Goldman Sachs have predicted that Indian telecom companies may once again increase the price of their tariff plans in 2022. During this time, the price of mobile recharge plans can be increased by up to 30 percent. The recharge plans of Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea are going to be expensive. Telecom operators will also charge premium tariffs for 5G after increasing 4G tariffs, the firm report said.

How much will the prices of 4G plans increase?
According to the report, the companies are going to increase the price of 4G tariff plans. According to Nomura Global Markets Research, mobile recharge plans of 1.5GB per day will charge the highest premium. These prices will be 30 percent higher than the current plan.

5G plans of Jio, Airtel and Vi
150173 crore i.e. Rs 1.5 lakh crore has been earned by the government from the auction of 5G airwaves. Reliance Jio has shelled out Rs 88,078 crore, Bharti Airtel Rs 43,084 crore and Vodafone Idea Rs 18,784 crore to acquire 5G spectrum. These companies will get 24,740 MHz spectrum, 19,867 MHz spectrum and 2668 MHz spectrum respectively.
