The once very popular Ford Escort is returning to Russia: new cars are ready to be delivered from China, where under this “sign” an inexpensive sedan is sold, comparable in size to the Ford Focus.
Own, Chinese Escort and built on the Focus platform, but not very fresh: the “trolley” is borrowed from the second-generation Focus. And it is simplified: instead of a rear multi-link suspension, a semi-independent beam is installed. The solution is clearly worse in terms of ride comfort and handling, but cheaper and less expensive to maintain. Escort is also equipped with a 122 hp naturally aspirated gasoline engine. and two transmissions to choose from – manual or automatic. Both are six-speed.
With a length of 4633 mm, the Chinese sedan is 22 centimeters longer than the Lada Vesta, and it is better equipped: it has a large screen as part of the multimedia system, a virtual instrument panel and many other modern options. The seller is ready to deliver the Escort from the Celestial Empire for 1,600,000 rubles: even the Vesta NG sedan is more expensive, not to mention the SW Cross version.
