Flipkart had to cancel the order heavily, had to pay Rs 10 thousand to the customer who had ordered iPhone

Canceling one person’s iPhone order has proved costly for Flipkart. The customer had ordered the iPhone and had also paid for it, but later Flipkart canceled the order. The matter of the year 2022 reached the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. After this, a fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed on Flipkart.

Flipkart often organizes sales and attracts with many offers, deals and discounts etc. Attracted by some such offers, a customer had purchased an iPhone, but Flipkart later canceled it. After this, Flipkart had to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 as penalty. Let us know the whole matter. 

The Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has found Flipkart guilty of adopting unfair trade practices. After this, the Commission has ordered to pay Rs 10,000 to the customer because the customer had to face mental torture due to cancellation of the iPhone order. 

What is the whole matter?

Actually, a customer living in Dadar, Mumbai has complained that he had ordered the iPhone on July 10, 2022. This order was placed on Flipkart website. The buyer had paid Rs 39,628 through credit card. The iPhone was to be delivered on July 12, but six days later he was informed through SMS that his order had been cancelled.
