New Ferrari 296 GTS in India: Luxury sports car manufacturer Ferrari has introduced its 296 GTS car in India. Equipped with rear mid engine, this car has the facility of hard folding top. The company made its global debut of this car in April last year.

According to the Italian car manufacturer, the car got its name from the power generated by the car (2.992 Liters) and the number of cylinders present in it, 6 (GTS Gran Turismo Spider acronym). The new 296 GTS is the first Ferrari sports car to be powered by a 6 cylinder engine.
Ferrari 296 GTS Powertrain
It is a plug-in hybrid car that gets a 3.0L twin turbo charged V6 petrol engine along with an electric motor. Whose total output is 818hp power and 740Nm peak torque. Its engine has been paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

According to the company, the 296 GTS is capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in 2.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 330 kmph.

Talking about its design, the car is based on the company’s own 296 GTB. However, some minor changes had to be made to fold the hard top. The hard top of the car takes about 14 seconds, operating at a speed of 45 km/h. Apart from this, the open top model of this car is almost 70 kg more than its GTB variant.

This plug-in hybrid variant is the fourth offering from Ferrari. In which four drive modes are available, which are eDrive, Hybrid, Performance and Qualify. This car has been introduced at a price of Rs 6.24 crores ex-showroom.
