FASTag: Due to the decision of Nitin Gadkari, the government got upset, big good news came about Fastag!

FASTag Toll Collection 2022: Traveling on the highway has become much easier through the facility of FASTag launched by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has made huge gains through FASTag at toll plazas. Let us tell you that in the year 2022, toll collection has increased by 46 percent to reach Rs 50,855 crore. It also includes the collection of toll plazas of state highways. The public sector company has given this information on Tuesday. 

On December 24, 222 , a total toll collection of Rs 34,778 crore was done through Fastag in 2021 at the plaza with the highest collection fee. According to a statement issued by NHAI, the average daily toll collection from FASTag in December 2022 at National Highways toll plazas was Rs 134.44 crore and the highest single day collection was Rs 144.19 crore on 24 December 2022 .

48 percent increase in 2022
According to the government statement, the number of fastag transactions has also increased by about 48 percent in 2022 on an annual basis. In the years 2021 and 2022, this number was Rs 219 crore and Rs 324 crore respectively.

Congestion at toll plazas reduced
, NHAI informed that 6.4 crore FASTags have been issued so far and the number of toll plazas in the country through FASTag has also increased to 1,181 (including 323 state highway plazas) which will increase to 922 in 2021. Was. With the help of FASTag, the waiting time at the toll plaza has been reduced considerably as there is no need to stop at the toll booth to pay the fee in this system.

Compulsory for all vehicles from 16 February 2021 The
government has made FASTag mandatory for all private and commercial vehicles from 16 February 2021. Vehicles that do not have a valid or current FASTag have to pay double the amount of toll fee as fine. Input – PTI
