Nykaa: Falguni Nair, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nykaa, an online cosmetics company, has been chosen as the ‘EY Entrepreneur of the Year’ for the year 2021. Announcing this in a statement on Tuesday, advisory firm EY said that Falguni will represent India at the ‘EY World Entrepreneur of the Year’ event to be held on June 9.
Falguni Nair started Naika in the year 2012
Falguni, who was an investment banker, started the Nykaa platform in 2012 for online selling of beauty products. The startup, which rose rapidly to profit, has also forayed into the fashion and lifestyle space through over 100 offline stores in the last two years.
A M Nayak receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Along with this, EY honored AM Nayak, Chairman, Larsen & Toubro Group, with the Lifetime Achievement Award. After joining the group in 1965, Nayak rose to the rank of its chairman and managing director.

On this occasion, Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav said that 21 people who are in the race for ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ award have a combined revenue of Rs 1.87 lakh crore and these entrepreneurs give employment to more than 2.60 lakh people.
